Bina Marga Installs MCBs Under Cawang JPO

East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept. installs movable concrete barriers (MCB)s and zebra cross under pedestrian crossing bridge (JPO).

East Jakarta Bina Marga Sub-dept. Head, Juaini Yusuf stated,30 MCBs are installed under Cawang Kompor JPO to ensure pedestrian safety and comfort. Zebra cross is also installed to facilitate pedestrians who want to get on the other sidewalks after getting off from JPO.

"We want to provide safety for pedestrians who want to cross the road because one of JPO's stairs is located in the middle of the road," he said, Tuesday (1/8).

Cawang Kompor Flyover Crossing Handling Slow

According to him, all JPO's stairs previously were on the sidewalks. But then management of an apartment widened Jalan Dewi Sartika as a part of their obligation as a developer to provide social and public facilities.

"As the impact of this road widening, one of JPO stairs is now in the middle of the road. Thus our team installs MCBs and zebra cross on this road last night for pedestrian safety," he explained.
